Four Steps To Listen To Your Intuition
Do you have problems making simple decisions? This might include what to eat for dinner or what to wear. Listening to your intuition will help you make choices that will improve your life.
Intuition is using your subconscious mind to make quick decisions. You can tell that you’re listening to your intuition because it feels right. You feel joy and comfort in your choice, as if you’re where you need to be.
In the most basic terms, listening to your intuition is understanding who you are and what you need.
But where does your intuition come from?
There are two primary ideas about where your intuition comes from. Some believe that your intuition is your subconscious mind reflecting on previous experiences. These memories impact your future decisions.
Others believe that your intuition comes from a higher power. Whatever your belief system, this higher power is guiding you through important decisions in your life. Regardless of how your intuition works, listening to it will help you to make the best decision for you.
While everyone has intuition, some people find it hard to tap into. There are various reasons why you might have trouble listening to your intuition.
4 Reasons Why You Have Trouble Tapping Into Your Intuition
Blocks
A major reason why people have trouble tapping into their intuition is that they have blocks. In most cases, this is caused by a fear of failure. Your intuition might be telling you to leave your comfort zone. If you’re afraid of the result, you’re ignoring your intuition.
Lack of Information
While your intuition can help you make decisions, you still need enough information to make the decision. This information is in your subconscious and will be used to make that decision, even if you’re not conscious of the decision-making process.
Perfectionism
Perfectionism comes from childhood development. Some people are taught that they need to be a certain way to perform to a high level. Failure to achieve that level makes the person feel as though they’re not good enough. Perfectionists have trouble trusting themselves to make important decisions.
People Pleasing
People pleasers are afraid of what people think about them or their decisions. This block is caused by a fear of judgment. When your intuition tells you to do something, you should be worried about what others will think.
Now that you know about your intuition and why you might have trouble listening to it, you might be asking how you know if you’re listening to your intuition.
The easiest way to determine that you’re listening to your intuition is by examining how you feel. When you immediately feel good about a decision you’ve made, commonly referred to as being in the flow, you’re aligned. This means that you just know that everything is right. This could be a job, relationship, and some other life change.
If you discover that you’re not listening to your intuition, how can you learn to do so? There are four steps that you can take to ensure that you’re listening to your intuition.
4 Steps to Listen to Your Intuition
Awareness
The first step in listening to your intuition is to be aware. You need to know where you are in life and have acceptance in that position. This will allow you to determine whether you’re happy where you are.
You also need to be aware of the blocks that might be holding you back. This usually comes from a trauma that happened during childhood. Hypnotherapy is a good way of discovering these issues, allowing you to resolve the blockage.
Listen to Your Body
When you suffer from anxiety, depression, or many physical problems, it’s often your body talking to you. You’re being told that something is wrong and you need to make a change. Unhappiness can have a significant impact on our minds and bodies and listening to your ailments will help you realize that a change is needed.
Clear the Problem
Once you’ve become aware of the problem causing your mental or physical issues, you need to resolve them. This is called clearing. In addition to ridding yourself of your mental or physical problems, clearing will allow you to listen to your intuition.
Learn to Say No
When you’re listening to your intuition, you know that it’s the right decision. You might not be able to describe why it’s the right choice, you just know. If you don’t feel like a specific choice is right for you, it’s important to say no. This will open up space in your life for the right decision to take over.
Learning to listen to your intuition can take time. However, there are some exercises that you can do daily to help you improve your listening skills.
Take a moment each day and think about a time when you felt good. How did your body feel at that time? Then take a moment and think about a time when you felt bad. Did you feel any pain in your body? This could be pain in your head, chest, toe, or any other physical discomfort.
This was your intuition telling you that you were making the right or wrong decision. Next time you make one of these choices, consider how your body feels and compare it to those situations.
